King George V visits Belgian headquarters and confirs the KG on King Albert.
- Rifleman Reginald Tucker (16th London Regiment (Queen’s Westminster Rifles) who joined Queen’s Westminster Rifles on outbreak of war and after two months training is sent to France where he is shot through the head while in the trenches at age 21. His captain wrote: “He was an extraordinarily plucky fellow, doing his best to keep down the enemy’s fire, even when at its heaviest. We shall always remember him among us as the first man to fall fighting for England.”
