Egypt is proclaimed a British protectorate.
- Major Lionel John Neville (Royal Engineers) dies of wounds received 30th November at age 36. He is the son of James Sewell Neville late Judge of the High Court of Calcutta and brother of R J N Neville MP. He served in the South Africa War.
- Lieutenant Charles Rollo Cooch (Border Regiment) is killed at Armentieres at age 20. He is the great nephew of General Robert Rollo Gillespie CB.
- Rifleman Joseph Goff (Rifle Brigade) is killed in action. He is buried by his brother who is a Lance Sergeant in the same Regiment. His brother will be killed tomorrow.
