This afternoon Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Francis Douglas Farquhar, occupy the muddy trenches of the Ypres Salient. Lieutenant Colonel Farquhar will be killed in March.

Private Percy G Wakeling (Essex Regiment) dies of wounds received in action at age 19. His brother Ernest will be killed in October of this year.
