The advanced on Baghdad by the Indian Expeditionary Force “D” resumes up the Tigris River. British and colonial forces take Zor during the advance.

  • Second Lieutenant Gordon Glanfield (Norfolk Regiment) is killed at age 23. His brother will die of wounds next August.
  • Lance Corporal Alfred Ernest Tarrant (Australian Infantry) is killed. His brother will be killed in September 1917.
  • Private James Lightbound (East Lancashire Regiment) dies on active service at Salonika at age 33. His brother will be killed in action in August 1918.
