The Turks retreat towards Erzerum. Bad weather hampers the Kut relief force.

- One of the original Royal Flying Corps pilots who flew to France on 12th August 1914
- A man whose brother will die of wounds in May 1917
Today’s highlighted casualties include:
- Captain Vivian Hugh Nicholas Wadham (Hampshire Regiment attached Royal Flying Corps) is killed at age 24 with his observer. They are the first crew lost by 15th Squadron in action and Captain Wadham was one of 34 pilots who flew from Salisbury Plain to France on 12th August 1914.
- Driver Thomas Edward Davies (Army Service Corps) dies at home on service. His brother will die of wounds in May 1917.
