Captain Charles Edward Piercy Henderson MC (Royal Field Artillery) is killed in action at Martinpuich at age 29.  He invented an anti-aircraft gear in 1913, is a balloonist and holds a Royal Aero Club flying certificate.

  •  Captain Sidney Edward Cowan MC (Royal Flying Corps) is killed at age 19 in a crash following a mid-air collision with an aircraft flown by Second Lieutenant William Fitz-Robert Spencer Saundby. Both pilots are killed while Cowan is a 7-victory ace and one of the Royal Flying Corps first aces. His brother will be killed serving in the Royal Flying Corps in November 1917
