The two-day Battle of Behobeho begins in East Africa. It will be best known for its most famous casualty, Frederick Courtney Selous who will be killed tomorrow.

- A family that will lose five sons in the Great War
- A man whose brother will be killed next July
Today’s highlighted casualties include:
- Airman 1st Class Arthur Augustus Stooke (#4 Kite Balloon Section, Royal Flying Corps) is killed in action at age 27. He is one of five brothers who will lose their lives in the Great War.
- Private Albert Edward Fincham (Saskatchewan Regiment) is killed at age 33. His brother will be killed next July.
