The convoy sloop Arbutus (Commander Charles Herbert Oxlade killed) is torpedoed and sunk by UB-65 in St George’s Channel killing the crew of nine.
SS Bristol City (Master William George Newton) is sunk 250 miles west southwest of Ushant after being torpedoed by U-94 killing the entire crew.
