  • Second Lieutenant Paul Amie Bourdillon (Royal Engineers) dies on service in Tehran at age 20. He is the son of the Reverend F W Bourdillon who has previously lost two other sons in the war.
  • Sub Lieutenant Denys Ernest Puttock (HMS Valorour) dies of illness at age 23. He is the son of the late Reverend E H Puttock.
